WINEMAKER’S NOTES:
Royale Réserve Brut is the purest expression of the House’s style. Deep gold in color with aromas of vine blossom, linden, and toasted bread. Notes of redcurrant, raspberry, and ripe grape. Full-bodied, generous and long. Enhances hot or cold white meats, poultry, and premium charcuterie. An ideal complement to cold buffets, fish, and seafood.
Blend: 65% Pinot Noir, 30% Chardonnay, 5% Pinot Meunier
TASTING NOTES:
Based on the 2015 vintage, complemented by some 35% solera-aged reserve wines, the latest rendition of Philipponnat’s NV Brut Royale Réserve was disgorged in September 2019 with eight grams per liter dosage. Offering up a lovely bouquet of golden orchard fruit, fresh peach, blanched almonds and honeycomb, it’s medium to full-bodied, deep and complete, with a generous core of fruit, chalky structuring extract, and an elegant pinpoint mousse. While this Royale Réserve is already quite demonstrative, it will be even better with some bottle age. Rating : 92+

A dry style, this classic nonvintage from Philipponnat is showing well, with greater depth than in the past. The wine has maturity, with toast, almonds and cookies, but retaining the acidity to give a wine that is mouthfilling and also refreshing.

An apple-accented Champagne, with enticing notes of ripe and juicy Jonagold apple and honeysuckle, weaving grilled nut, ground ginger and lemon glaze flavors on the finely detailed bead. Bright and mouthwatering finish. Disgorged November 2017. Drink now through 2022.
