WINEMAKER’S NOTES:
In the Tareni di Pellegrino line of mono varietal wines, the most representative grape variety of the Sicily region could certainly not be missing: Nero d’Avola. The vineyards from which it originates live in the Agro di Salemi and in the locality of Mazara del Vallo, in the suitable western Sicily. The grapes are harvested starting from the first ten days of September. Fermentation takes place traditionally in red with aging in steel only for 4 months. Intense ruby red on violet reflections. On the nose elegant floral notes of rose are perceived which prelude to a fruity trace composed of blackberry and morello cherry. On the palate, hints of ripe sour cherry stand out for an overall warm and harmonious flavor. Particularly suitable with mixed roasts of meat and game, it magnificently stocks medium-aged cheese platters.
