WINEMAKER’S NOTES:
The color is a pale, but vibrant, copper. Mourvèdre, especially in this seaside location where it reigns supreme, gives a bit more color than does Grenache or Syrah thus why Bandol Rosé tends to be a bit darker than the rest of Provence. The 2021 blend has a bit more Mourvèdre than usual which brings a strong ripe tangerine and herbs de Provence profile with notes of white cherry, peach, with underlying minerality and bead of salinity.
Blend: 58% Mourvèdre, 40% Grenache, 2% Cinsault
TASTING NOTES:
A fresh and elegant rose expression with some freshly cut strawberries, grapefruit and savory thyme herbs on the nose followed by a textured, medium-bodied palate. Clean, pure and pithy finish. Vivacious and well-balanced. 58% mourvèdre, 40% grenache and 2% cinsault. A well-made Bandol rose. Drink now.
