WINEMAKER’S NOTES:
The bright ruby red colour of local Sangiovese wines is visible. With a lively nose, it expresses the freshness of red berry fruit such a scherry and black currant, followed by sweet and spicy nuances. In the mouth it is full and soft, initially opening up with very ripe red fruit flavours. Elegant tannins, long in the mouth.
TASTING NOTES:
The 2020 Rosso di Montalcino is wildly attractive, with sweet violet florals, sugar dusted blackberries and smoke forming its bouquet. It washes across the palate with grace, soft-textured and round, while leaving a staining of wild berries under an air of blue and purple floral perfumes. Gently tannic, yet more of an accent than an obstacle, the 2020 finishes with medium length, leaving hints of licorice to slowly fade.
