TASTING NOTES:
Trevor Sheehan at Precision Wine Company makes this cabernet, packed with blackcurrant richness yet on the underside of ripeness. The perfumed tannins have a bosky feel, more breathable than tasteable, their muscular hold on the fruit not diminishing its cushioned feel. This is not a wine to age, but to drink now with chopped sirloin off the grill.
WINEMAKER’S NOTES:
A blend of 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot, the wine was vinted by one of our favorite winemakers Trevor Sheehan, who doesn’t need alchemy to transform the gold of superb Napa Valley fruit into the gold of outstanding Napa Valley juice. All he needs is his expertise, focus and experience which he brings to every wine he produces. He aged this Cab 15 months in 60% new oak barrels. This wine shows ripe black cherry, black currants and a hint of toasty oak. The flavors are lively on the palate with racy tannins that give the wine an inviting mouthfeel. The finish is mouthwatering and lengthy with cherry, hints of cocoa and toast.
