WINEMAKER’S NOTES:
If we made two wines in 2018 and 2019 that were hard to tell apart by tasting, they would be our Russian River Valley Pinots. With all the well-deserved hype around the 2018 vintage, 2019 was another phenomenal year for the RRV pinot with a long, even growing season.
This 2019 has all the ripeness and floral aromas of the 2018, with possible a bit more firmness and tannin on the palate. Try this in 2020, it’s showing beautifully, and it should hold until at least 2030.
The 2018 was deep in color for an AW Pinot, with bright berry aromas and a full, lush palate.
