TASTING NOTES:
The 2016 Meursault 1er Cru Sous le Dos d’Ane has a strict and yes, unsurprisingly Puligny-like bouquet that is taut and linear. The palate is actually more expressive than the nose, with walnut and orange zest notes, admirable weight and penetration with a vein of spice and lemongrass toward the finish. Once the aromatics fine their voice this could be a very interesting proposition.
