TASTING NOTES:
Young, tight and compact, this is all about red fruits and red licorice. There’s a dash of peppermint as well, on the way to a smooth, milk-chocolate finish. This seems sure to continue to improve through 2020 or more.

Vivid red. High-pitched redcurrant and strawberry scents are complemented by white pepper and botanical herbs. Tangy, sharply focused red berry and blood orange flavors flesh out slowly with air. Clings nicely on the clinging, youthfully tannic finish.

The 2013 Pinot Noir Gregory Ranch Vineyard is 100% biodynamic, the vineyard with four unique exposures that are harvested and fermented separated. It is also Bergstrom’s coolest vineyard at 425-foot elevation and it was one of the wines picked after the rains. It has a more mineral-driven nose compared to Bergstrom’s other 2013s: quite tensile with cold stone aromas infusing the cranberry and wild strawberry. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp tannin, plenty of dark berry fruit, the 50% whole cluster fruit lending some undergrowth and spicy aromas towards the finish. This is a very commendable Pinot Noir from Bergstrom.
