TASTING NOTES:
Blending 48% Cabernet Sauvignon, 32% Merlot and smaller percents of Malbec, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc, this is a compelling sum of many parts: woody and powerfully built. Dark cherry, sage, clove and cigar wrap around integrated tannin and robust ripeness that grips.

Aromas of ripe berries, barley and cedar. A full and rich red with lots of dried fruit, such as figs and prunes. Big and ripe style.

WINEMAKER’S NOTES:
Named for the gentian or bell flower that blooms in Japan each fall, rindo is the flagship red wine of Kenzo Estate. It is the singular expression of our magnificent vineyard and is an alluring mosaic of Bordeaux varietals. The 2016 rindo is the ultimate expression of Kenzo Estate’s uniquely diverse vineyard terroir. This vintage is elegant, reserved and enchanting, with aromatics that are akin to honeysuckle in bloom, framed by ripe raspberry and rose petal. On the palate, pronounced layers of dark blue and bright red fruit mingle with black pepper and clove, with an underlying foundation of minerality. Luxurious and refined, this wonderfully well-balanced wine has long aging potential, yet begs to be enjoyed now.
