WINEMAKER’S NOTES:
Brioche is a Chardonnay produced by a group of wine enthusiast friends and the Assistant Winemaker at Babcock to make a quintessential California Chardonnay that won’t break the bank. They are able to source fruit from top Chardonnay sites throughout California, and the result is a Chardonnay that is crisp and bright with hints of stone fruit, apple, pear and a subtle, buttery richness from which it derives its name.
TASTING NOTES:
Always a great value, the 2021 Chardonnay sports a lighter gold hue to go with exotic, slightly richer aromatics of honeyed apples, orange blossom, and hints of toasted nuts, with a kiss of background oak. Pure, medium-bodied, and nicely textured on the palate, it has terrific richness as well as length. It’s a smoking value well worth seeking out. Drink bottles over the coming year or two.
